An interview with our pastors:
Deacon Chris Bodiford is a husband of 4 years, and a new father to his daughter Abigail! He is passionate about community development and discipleship, as well as pursuing pastoral ministry. He earned his undergraduate degree at California Baptist University where he met his beautiful and intelligent bride Kasi Bodiford. During college, Christ became his all in all and he changed his major from Business Administration to Christian Studies in his junior year. In addition Chris served as a youth pastor for nearly two years before getting married in 2012. After moving to Lake Elsinore California, he teamed up with Cameron Lemons and Jamal Scarlett serving St. Paul’s City Church where he discerned a call to the priesthood. He is actively pursuing a Masters in Divinity degree at Bethel Seminary San Diego where he plans to graduate in the spring of 2017. Growing up in the Inland Empire and seeing the diversity of both socioeconomic status’ and culture, Chris desires to pursue a community driven missional church in the future with his soon to be doctor wife. A verse that drives his pursuit of the city is found in Jeremiah 29:7 where God gives Israel a promise even in exile, “Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.” He believes that the gospel is worked into us as we seek to work it out in the city!
