Saint Paul's came together with the hopes of establishing a community across denominational and cultural lines, while remaining rooted in the historic Christian faith. Beginning in 2009 Pastor Jamal and Pastor Cameron dreamed and prayer together. They led small groups, organized community events and service projects, and just had an all-around good time. They also explored denominational covering, looking for a group that was broad in their mission, committed in the faith, and apostolic in their tradition. In January 2013 Pastor Jamal and Pastor Cameron were ordained to the priesthood through the Anglican Church of North America on Saturday in Fallbrook, and the very next day, Saint Paul's City Church was born.
It began in a living room in Murrieta (thanks Bryan and Jeanette!), celebrating the Eucharist on a granite counter-top, and quickly grew to fill a chapel space at Promise Lutheran Church. The church remained at Promise Lutheran for a year and half. There lives were touched by Jesus Christ and a community learned to worship together. St. Paul's is now on to the third stage of ministry, meeting in the heart of Lake Elsinore. God is opening up doors for the church to partner in some significant ways in the city. Members are being added. The vision is expanding toward being able to plant multiple 'city churches' in this valley. St. Paul's is now two years into the journey and God has been at work in some wonderful ways already. We believe He has even greater things in store.
