We had the opportunity to share a couple of creative arts, worship nights with our community groups over the past couple of weeks. They have been a wonderful opportunity to share the unique gifts that God has given us with one another. We have had the opportunity to hear God's truth communicated through folk music, and rap, spoken word and 19th century poetry, as well as painting and Chinese alphabet characters. Here are a couple of pictures from our most recent event, the Unveiling.
I shared two spoken word poems at the recent event. A couple of people asked to get a copy of them, so I will attach the audio below. The first is a reflection on the way that even though I didn't know about Advent growing up, it was still a meaningful description of the way I experienced December as a child. The second is an invitation to return to the historic practice of celebrating Christmas as a 12 day season, rather than a one day event. I hope you enjoy them.
